Guys I need your expert advise on why when I make my maps that after I add textures for DOD:Source that look fine on my screen, yet when my group downloads my map for testing they get some textures that are purple and black textured?

I know that dod has its own textures and props but yet I've seen many maps using HL2 props, posters and such that you can see, so do I need to convert the WAD to VMT or what?

Any advise is appreciated thanks?

This belongs over in the mapping forum...

If you haven't used any custom textures and everyone is playing your map using DOD:S then there shouldn't be a problem.

WADs are HL1 format texture packs from what I recall so I hope you're not using those as the quality will be horrible.
Hrm I'm taking a stab in the dark but perhaps you added a WAD to the texture list in Hammer? If you run the DOD:S config through the Source SDK menu you don't have to do any changing in the Hammer settings like you had to in HL1.

You could try using Pakrat to locate any custom textures you have included and make a new bsp. Give that one to a friend to try out on their own PC.

Thanks guys, as far as I know I've never loaded anything from HL1, for one thing I've never used HL1, to me it seemed much harder than source.
I did however solve my water problem, bluestrike told me if I had any leaks at all that my map would not compile right and I have been presently making a new map that derives from the 60's combat series, "Hills Are For hero's" where they shot a 2 parter that they had to take 2 bunkers so the Allies could move ahead. And so far I've had no leaks and tried my water texture and I was so amazed how awesome it turned out. Once I finish it I will post it here. :)
