Concave get around?

VHE hates concave objects and I need to make a rock wall... or just uneven ground... or stuff like that. I use the vertex editer but I get lots of objects that compile alright but have the hall of mirrors effect. How do I shape the object so I dont get the hall of mirrors. I try and make some screenies to show what I mean.

A rock editing tutorial might explain all anyway, but google has turned out nothing.

The easiest method is to cut brush so you have only triangle faces on the side of cliff. This always works. Do not use brushes with multiple triangle faces, it's not worth time wasted.
