How many submodels can WC display?

I put some map models together for Fuzzdad but his version of WC is a bit special and can show up to 9 submodels for a map model.
I was going to release the map models I made here but I figure I need to re-compile them so they are a little more WC friendly.
I know the public beta shows map models but how many submodels can it show for a given model?

If you could compile it so that each model only has submodels of the same shape (like snowy version to non-snowy version), then it wouldn't be a problem, and we could still make tight clips easily.

Actually...the "special" version of hammer a few of us have can see 50-60-70 sub_groups...but I'm not sure if anything past sub_group 8 would show up properly in game (perhaps it defaults back to 0).
BTW...we have asked if this version of hammer could be released...my guess is the answer going to be "no" unless you have a map in the official pile (join the secret club and get the secret handshake with the secret decoder ring too!!!)

The secret is out! I just knew there was a decoder ring!
