impact craters

The tutorial on mardymouse.co.uk about creating impact craters is down, can anyone explain how this is done, or provide a tutorial?

I'm guessing it's done with the vertex tool.

basically you create a wedge. at the lowest end you bring both sides together with the vertex edit tool. copy that a bunch of times and arrange them in a cricle.

i would explain it in full, but I'm a lazy bstd

theres some tehcincal stuff u might wanna pay attention too, but those instructions should tide u over till the tut is fixed. make sure you tell him its down.
