A question about .map files

I have recently been given a .map file of an already existing dod map, by the creator. I want to make a few small changes for myself and my friends who play it on a lan.

When I load the .map into Worldcraft, everything seems right. I can see the map, with all the entity's in their right places. When I compile the map and get into the game, however, only about 5% of the textures are visible, and none of the entity's (flags, spawn points ect.) are there either.

I haven't dealt with a .map file before only .rmf, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried adding all the dod and HL wads to worldcrafts list, but that only seems to yield about 5% of the textures, as I said before.

Any help with my situation would be greatly appreciated.

a .map file is basically a .rmf but missing a lot of features usefull to the building process. a .map stores all of the texture locations in itself. these might be wrong. if you edit it and save it in Hammer hammer should fix em. open the the .map in notepad to check.
