Frustrating problem with lighting.

I've been working on a map for quite some time now, and everything has been working smoothly. Recently though, whenever I try to add something to the map, one of my outdoor areas (and any that I add) go completely dark, except for the sky. All of the others remain the same. If I hide the new area and compile only what is visible, everything goes back to normal.

I've gone to map --> check for problems and there aren't any. I have not changed the way I build things in my map either. Anyone have an idea of what is happening and what should be done?

I've posted a picture in case anyone needs it. Note that they were taken during the same running of the map and these two areas are linked by a short tunnel.

* are you using the newest ZHLT?

* are you compiling with a batch or with the default VHC compiler?

Yes, I'm using up-to-date ZHLT
As for the compiler, it's the default.

get nems batch compiler, you can find a link on VERC. that might fix it.

Nope, didn't help. Thanks anyway, though.

Haha, do you have a light_environment in your map ? :p

If so then make sure all of your fun_water entities are only made up of one brush each and that your light_environment is not in a different hull then the rest of your map

Always check the obvious no mater how stupid it may seem . . .

Yes and yes. Remember, part of the map is lit, and part of it isnt. Now this may sound stupid, but I never heard about a hull. What exactly is it? (I'm not an expert mapper, I've just been screwing around with it for a few years).

HULL - 2 seperatly enclosed spaces within the workspace

So for example if you have a sky box that is totally sealed with a few houses, a light_environment, ect. and another sky box without a light_environment that is also totally sealed but not connected to the other box then you will only get light in the box that has its own light_environment

I doubt this is the cause of your problem, but it is the only thing i can thing of

If you cant figure it out you can send me the .rmf or .map and i can most likely find out what the problem is

Using Nems Batch Compiler, under Shared, click on Chart, and recompile. Then see if you've passed the limits of any of the engine limitations, like lights etc.
Maybe your map is using up too many resources?

I'll check these things. Thanks, guys!
