Compiling troubles...
Everytime I compile my map, VIS seems to crash.
Is it crashing or do DoD maps take an extreemly long time to compile?
I dont know the place where it stops atm as im not on my native pc, but i think it stops at something called "Leafing"
Any help would be excellent, thanks

We have new shiney forum for this kind of questions:

Vis can take very long time to run depending on the quality of the map and how fast your computer is. Large maps on a slow computer could take 12+ hours for vis to run...
One other thought for ya...there was a question just like this a few weeks ago and there were some really good tips on how to properly make a map so it compiles faster and doesn't crash during compile as often. Try searching for some of those key words.
Here's a few tips in case you can't find it.
1. Don't have brushes intersect. That REALLY slows the compile.
2. Use brush sizes like 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 etc. These are number computers like to deal with.
3. Use triangles and squares. Strange shapes are hard for the computer to deal with and make things like RAD take much longer.
Anyhow...there are a few good threads...
