What does the SKIP texture do?

I've seen it in a lost of WAD's but I never knew what it did, never saw I tutorial about it and I really want to know what it does. Can someone explain me?

You put it on all sides except one on a hintbrush where the last side is the actual hint.

I think faces with it are removed from all hulls unlike NULL which is removed only from visual. sUed only in 'plane'-type HINT brushes. For more info look into tutorials about HINT brushes (in forum FAQ).

Doing this allows you to use a hint brush that touches sky
