Is it posible to make mirrors with Hammer?

Also... how do you make the waterfall efect on dod_forest? (the moving texture and de "steam")

1. erm not in terms of a "mirror" that reflects realtime.

2. in "dod_forest.wad" there is a texture called: "scrollfall1_mas" this is a texture that scrolls and make the effect of running water or falling water.

1. mirrors? not really. HL1 is not programmed for it. HL2 kinda will be.

2. i beleive the waterfall was animated or scrolling texture. the steam was either a sprite, or more likely particle action.

I'm almost positive its a sprite. If you look closely at the edge of the waterfall spray thingy, you'll see the white stuff spreaind all the sudden come to a stop. And if you look around you'll see it looks like a square.

he could just be using a particle_shooter perhaps maybe um?

that uses still sprite files but just give them 3D motion its 99.999999999% likely to be that ya know. Heres how I'd do it.

func_water: top, bottom, falling water.
particle_shooter: at top aiming along falling water brush.
env_sprite: at the the bottom of the falling water to give the spray.
hey presto a pretty waterfall that dosnt take to much fps.

That would be so cool, having a lil mirror in ut hand/on a small stick that u can hold around a corner to see whats around it... any1 thinks that could be done in HL2?!?

Half-Life 2 does have support for reflective surfaces, so you will have to wait for that.

The Waterfall in forest uses 2 func_conveyor entities with the scrolling texture found in dod_forest.wad and additve set to about 200 or something around that I would guess

Below that at the base of the waterfall is some sprites, a gas sprite I think.

Over the sprites is a particle_shooter that uses no target. Firing the gaspuff sprite.

Take a look at the bsp file for more information. Wish I could look for you but dod isn't installed on my pc :)
