Could someone make a german Flak 83 ?

Its this german 20mm quad-gun. In earlier dod betas there was a brush based prefab of this sweety...

I could hardly find any good pictures of it ( 4-view blueprints etc... )

I dont know Ive this prefab is still downloadable somewhere...
I got it here, if its needed I could upload it.

I'll see what I can dig out of my models and source material archives. Sweet Jesus!!! I gotta sort through over 3 gigs of models and 2 gigs of jpegs? this could take a while :) I'll definately give it a thorough look.

Ive found a plastic model at ebay, and a photographyof the box, there are pictures of the gun from the top, side and front...

i loved the flak panzer IV in Air Warrior III for anyone who knows what im tlaking about :D great airfield defence.

in mohaa / spearhead you can control some of this sweeties !
I got the brush based version,too. and because I like the brushed version a lot I want to have a higher detailed one in mdl.

I made the brusheds version working with an quad- muzzleflash sprite an some env_shooters which are spiting out tons of empty 20mm shells...

I also made it shaking...

Its damn cool to play around with that... the only thing that sucks, is that its only possible to have one origin brush in the Func_tank. because of that I only made it controllable up and down and a little bit to the sides.

Iam going to make a screeny of me playing around with it a little bit, soon...

That's just a fruity AA/AT mobile gun

You could even tear up the T-34s with it if you caught them with their turret pointed in the wrong direction! It was excellent against just about anything but high altitude bombers. Of course its best use was for killing fighters that were swarming around an airfield waiting to vulch people as they took off. I played AW4W on AOL and later AW3D on Gamestorm. C'z ruled! I quit playing about the time I got heavily into FPS games. Last I heard EA had bought out Kesmai and cancelled the sequel that was in the works and eventually took down all the AW servers. What a shame. Warbirds was cool but I never could get into that outrageous $2 an hour pricing plan. By the time they came to their senses and lowered it I had mostly lost interest in flight sims.

BTW just to get back on topic h&k did do a model of an Ostwind if anyone really feels the need for an AA gun in their map.

the ostwind has one 20mm gun... And just look at the model... I didnt say that it is not god, but I think Its possible to have a much more detailed one in dod... even the brush based version has more details...

I wasn't saying that the Ostwind had quad guns (that would be the Mobelwagen or the Wirbelwind ). I was just mentioning it in case anyone felt they needed a static AA gun of some sort in their map and didn't want to use brush based models. As for the details, h&k made the Ostwind well before the latest version of DoD was released. Mappers have apparently gotten a lot more liberal about the poly count of the models that they use since then. As for h&k's model I'm sure that more detail could be added to it by a willing modeler. Of course that would require his permission for release. It could be spruced up quite a bit just by adding the side skirts from his Pz4, a machine gun barrell on the front of the hull and maybe some of the vegetation from one of the 1.0 tanks.

I actually got one of these collected and completed...
I Can model but i think i will make it with to many poly's...

I dont really care about polys:D

Maybe 200 or 2000 I wont care...

Perhabs you couls even make some detaild Photos of it ??
I make models ,too. But I could hardly get any Useful , DETAILED pictures...

Well im glad someone remembers my early dod efforts in the prefab dept. If you want the prefab in question u can either have the sand or grey version. Let me know and ill email them to you.

I still have all the other ones I did kicking around on my pc.

ah true true, wasn't paying much attention had only been up for like an hour when i read that.

Count me in on the list of wanting/needing things like this :D

It'd be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet to have a highly-detailed one to play with.

Get WinRAR instead of WinACE. It's consistently more advanced.

And because I want that,too I bought A flak 38,( not the quad, the single one ) from tamiya in 1:35 scale... Its this one from saving private james ryan which with the germany shoot the americans to pieces that want to enter the Tiger Tank...

I will make a model with the help of that plastic kit.

Yes Ive started, but I dont know, when its finished... I think It will take some more time

Mmm i wouldn't mind a landing craft either for one of my maps I'm working on :D
