Some guy opened a paintball site earlier this year that reproduces Dust.

They should do a decent map like Cherbourg or Caen (yes the dod maps!). Either of them would be awesome paintball arenas.

Honestly, I don't have anything against CS. I just can't stand most of the players. They're all l337 k1ll3rz w1t oob3r sk1llz.

Annoying as all hell, too. lol.

dod_dust was done by one of the team + one of the cs team. It was posted on the map forum and quickly disappeared with a few days

and one of the few things I've enjoyed about each dod release is the change in maps that make you learn things all over again.

CS maps haven't change since I was in my 20s - 80% of the skill in playing them is not the player's skill but map knowledge - so the l33t love em and n00bs get p@wned.

At least with dod the playing field is evened when new maps are put into the rotation

If you must know they DO have WW2 Paintball reinactments! I traveled from FL to Pensylvania where they were holding a Battle of the Bulge Paintball tournament. $100 to get in. It was a 3-Week Campaign of paintballing in places like Bastonge, and YES, even Omaha Beach! I saw a few people drop their crappy guns in the sand and mess it up :D

I did fairly well, got shot a bunch, but its all in the fun! I am not sure how often they do this though... oh well thought id bring it up! :rolleyes:

thats too much of a DM map, playing dod would get kind of irritating with it in my mind.

I went thru HL and tfc, CS and firearms until i started playing dod 1.3

even when i have dod i sometimes try new mods, like NS or TS..

theres nothing to be ashamed of..

ive played most of em, most are repetitive (including DoD)

Three are a couple maps I wouldn't mind seeing converted to dod.

de_torn isn't really suited to CS but it does apear to be a candidate for dod. Same with storm train and piranesi.

I started with CS (and played it religiously for a good year and a half), which I'm ashamed to admit. Then I downloaded Day of Defeat 3.1b.

If I want to play dod_avalanche I play DoD.

I look at it this way. dust was desgined for CS guns and CS gameplay which is its own special thing, converting it to DOD is stupid because it wont work how its supposed and the gameplay etc wont play well. occasionally there are excpetions so dont bother not trying but don't expect it to be as goo as it was for the other mod.

tthe CS llamas ruin the community which is why I love DOD. CS in itself is a well done game and no-one can agrue with that well. DOD is an exelently well made game and it has a community to match. dont slam CS, just the players.

i started with Air Warrior I, then II and then III.... after that and 2 very successful clans later... i
joined TFC (big leap i know) had a good clan in that...
then came CS.. good fun GREAT mod absolutly best mod out for its time, i joined about beta1.3 or beta3 or something RULED.
then CS went lame (because of the people not the MOD)... CS now sucks while playing CS and being in about 4-5 clans for that
I found WIE (War in Europe) EXCELLENT except crap lag (netcode)and no-one played it...
by PURE accident i found DoD Beta 1.0..... this is the longest MOD ive stayed with and WILL stay with. its been an amazing 10 years of gaming :D to see things progress from their early forms into HUGE games :D lets jsut hope DoD doesnt go the way of TFC and CS and lets hope WIE gets bigger too cus thatw as fun..

oh yes and HATE EA FOR KILLING AIR WARRIOR SERIES U *******S!

P.S. I still love CS LANs because theres no *******s on a LAN :)

the quake 1 mods were the best!!

air quake, quake rally, quake special forces
i would say that quake was best for single player mods and HL is the world champion for Multiplayer Mods :p
