select both of the brushes, right-mouse click and select group, voila
NNNoooo........(in denial)
I've had problems in the past when combining water brushes together, especially when they are L shaped. They wouldn't compile right.

L - shaped brushes are the defenition of "leaf saw into leaf" warning so I can totally understand that. :)
no i mean 2 seperate brushes forming an L.
Fragman:
That's weird 'cos I have never encountered problems with L-shaped brushes. (2 brushes)
What was the problem with compile anyway?

Water is weird like that. It also doesn't like being on an incline while on an angle as well.

Yea...whenver I put my water on an incline it just slides off the map....
:)
Sorry...was too easy to say that... hehe
When you make a body of water that is made up of more then 1 brush you will almost always haveto make each brush a seperate entity
Also if you are talking about combining brushes as in QERADIANT that is not possible within hammer you can only GROUP brushes which does nothing but allows for easier selection in the editor

Weird. Also, whenever I get a leak, all of my water disappears for some odd reason.

Nope. It's func_rubberduck entity.

possibly the func_take_a_leak entity...
anyway, to FRaGMaN's point, I noticed that problem about 3 years ago on a single player Op4 map I was making. Then I forgot about and ran into it again when making Vicenza.
The bottom line is that you can't combine several brushes and then turn into a func_water. The compiler/engine just does not like that. Never understood why.
go to the VERC collective and search for combing brushes. theres a nifty tutorial on how to do it. it require notepad and a .map of the brushes but once you've read it really easy to get. it also explains when to do it. I'd give you the link if I was on my comp.
and grouping brushes is only a Hammer thing It dosnt make a flyiong monkeys worth of difference on the compile.

Hey, it's fragman, where ya been fragdude?
And, uh, on my NS map I'm making I had a flooded hallway with turns and some of the brushes just wouldn't render so I just took the water out. It's better without water anyway :D
In most cases you can lower brush counts by using the clip tool but you must know how to use it correctly or you can get some problems
