Help With 'Gimp'

Ok, I installed a programme yesterday called Gimp, its not too far off PSP, i am trying to make my own skins, mainly clothes. I'm sure you have heard of Gimp, its on the MSA FAQ Thread so some of u probably use it. I am looking to add creases / textures / folds basically to make a peice of clothing
cud ne 1 help me on doing this?

I'm not very handy with Gimp, but I do know how to create a neat dent effect and some nice dirt/scratches
