DONT! post pictures of your map from the editor, please compile your map and then post some pictures of the map ingame :)

Yeah, Hammer pics are strongly dis-liked by most. It looks nice, but also looks like r_speeds are going to be a be-hotch.
I think in the FAQ(or atleast the old one), it says only show a preview of your map when its around 75% done.

Previews of maps must contain pictures of the map from in-game. Pictures from Hammer or a layout picture drawn with Microsoft Paint or any other drawing programs are not valid.
post something when you have something ready to be shown. IE ingame pics, compiled with Rad, vis and what not.

You can post anything you'd like...hammer or in-game shots. As a mapper I love to see the hammer shots because you get to see all the real hard work...all those func_illusionaries and sprites...real men use hammer...

If you really wanted to preview your map you would of compiled and took screenshots.
This basically comes off as your first work in hammer and your so excited you decide to post misc. screenshots here.
All I see is a beach shot and a couple random buildings not even inserted into the map. So where exactly is the map and how is this a preview of it?
no offence meant but enders right, it shouldn't be called a preview untill its at least over the 60% threshold. It should be called
Advice: DOD_op.juno
and here is my advice, if shot 3 looks out on to the beach like i tihnk it does you have GOT to watch your r_speeds there.

Yeah baby, after i get done with my current map, I'm going to make a uber simple map (maybe para_iceworld3
 :p ) from notepad. Always wanted to do it. probably will only be a box but still...its the principal of the thing.
that was off-topic, but i dont think this thread should have been posted at all..but oh well, it gave us something to type about, this forum is gtting slow...

ic.... Hmmm i shall do some more research...Also they did have some bunkers on the beach but not big ones.. Me got rid of the big one but they did have some smaller roundish ones with no roof. Ill compile the map later and upload some screenies as well :-)
not to rain on your parade or anything, but might want to change it to sword, to me its got much more of a sword feeling. sword had similar bunkers, and a much bigger beach, at juno the tide was almost all the way in by mid day. plus the biggest factor to why im saying change it to sword or gold is that im getting close to finishing my juno beach map, and im canadain (which gives me first rights :p ) and dude your a brit so map a british beach, not a canadian beach. but hey thats my 2 cents if your not gonna change it thats fine, we'll just let the comunity decide who did a better canadian tribute :p
lol murphy...
btw an advice...that beach looks kinda small, if you make it bigger it would be more fun..

wrong!!! Sword didn't had any bunkers on the beach!!! My grandfather landed at sword and he told me they had vacation houses wich got easily taken out because you could easily shoot trough the walls, however!!! They had bunkers in the dunes and that's where the fighting started, I know I'm doing sword but can't lower r_speeds so you can take it from me
also whats wrong with having 2 maps of the same area, the chances the maps wont be distingushiable from each other is minute. so they will play and look different which isnt a problem.
Juno mostly had regular buildings and a few small bunkers past the sea wall

Courseullessur Mer which i am starting to make at the moment.

These pics from Hammer are hardly readable. In-game views tells more.
BTW If any of you guys have some pics of beaches (from WW2 time), made from beach looking into defences I would be very happy to see it. To be precise they should show some details, not just beach, with landing people or dunes few hundredths meters away. Thanks

So because you haven't heard of it, means it doesn't exist ? I can upload it for you in a minute if you want to see for yourself.

dod_juno8 was nasty looking as I recall, but then again it might be another one of those mystery beach maps that I'm thinking of.
