First I want to thank people like Xerent and Danza (and others not mentioned) for posting very useful info, it has helped alot.
I am new to mapping and am currently workin on my first map. I am having problems with the indoor lighting.
I have looked at many different turorials and can't sem to find the right one for my problem. I cant seem to get the lights to work when running a map. I created regular light entities and placed them at various places in my map. The indoors are pretty dark. I have posted a couple screenshots to show what is happening. I'm sure it's a newb mistake and I would appreciate any help. If any mopre info is required just let me know. Again I would greatly appreciate any insight into my problem. Thanks.

Well first of all that pink texture you are using is not meant to accept light like a normaly textured face should i dont think

Try replacing that texture with a regular texture like cement or something your lights should work then

Also make sure the point of your light is not inside of another brush (the point is the small X in the middle of the entity box in the 2d views)

NP

You should always make your brushes with the NULL texture then apply the textures you want per-face for the most optimized brushwork and r_speeds
