Finally, here it is. This is, to me, my best work I've done to date and surprisingly it barely has any wood, which is kind of my specialty. :)

This was a reskin of firsts for me; my first time skinning metal at all, and my first time skinning EVERYTHING on a model from scratch. I tore this down and redid every piece of metal and skin on this, so it's completely new and hi-res in 512x512. It's also the first time I've spent a day and a half on one skin. I really hope you like it. :D

Dear sweet mother of God. You must revisit the StG44 and MP40. MUST.

If I played as Brits I'd use it. I wouldn't use anything else, in fact.

When it all boils down to it, this release was made primarily for me and secondary for the community. For that reason, I am not going to take any more time to re-do the magazine. I'm really sorry if you don't like it :(, but I just don't have the time to go back and make it not war-torn.

I like my skins rough and look like they've went through hell on a real battlefield. Metal doesn't always stay fresh, clean and shiny.

If you really don't like the magazine, you can always export your old bren's texture, crop out the magazine, resize it and copy/paste it over this one. But I am extremely pleased with this release, so I won't touch it.

Keep in mind that magazines were recycled, salvaged, recycled again. Soldiers tended not to take as much care of mags as they did their weapons, as well.

How will higher res skins on default models work with fps? Will there be an fps drop at all?

You won't notice any difference in FPS at all. At least I don't.

Yeah, I've never had any noticeable fps drop with 512x512 skins on V_models.

It might be like a 1fps drop or less, but shouldn't be any more. :)

Thnx Dillinger for releasing and something else :D. I've made IMHO a very nice looking "Re-Color" of the Enfield. Extra contrast on the wood make it look like it has a finish on it (as they did in real life) but yet war torn. Same deal with the metal, greasy. The metal is black and the wood is alot darker. See pics in next post.
