[MREL] SS v4 with Trenchcoats and Gasmasks

I did this sometime ago in 3.1, I don't recall officially releasing it (by which I mean on this beloved forum), but I did make them for Clan [C4] and released em on his boards after I read what they had to say about SS v3.

I forgot about these when DoD 1.0 came out. And I think I got linked to Ska Warz's site looking at his Models Section, and saw Warlord's post in a thread about trenchcoats and I remembered I needed to update these.

So Warlord, Clan [C4], and other peoples who just want to pump round after round into some insanely evil looking models, here you are...

Please!

Thats some awesome work Devin. I'm not too fond of the whole trenchcoat and gasmask thing, but its a damn fine job nonetheless.

Its for those of you who just want to blow realism out the doorway.

Wren
06-03-2003, 08:31 PM
Yes.. I could go for them without gaskmasks as well. I don't care how historicaly accurate they are, they still make them look like elephants. Still well done though.

Wren

BTW. Whos axis weapon replacements are those?

Devin Kryss
06-03-2003, 08:37 PM
Mine. Except the MP40. I havent done one yet, so Ls3/Pezz's is standing there so its doesnt look ugly for screenshots. How menacing is a an Unteroffizier with a square gun?

Wren
06-03-2003, 08:38 PM
Do you have a link to those then?

Devin Kryss
06-03-2003, 09:06 PM
The STG44, MG42, MG34, and K43 can be found at Editor321's site. I ahve my own section there, its all there. I havent yet released the K98, its a WIP. The MP40 is just Ls3's. Prolly on pokemart.

A reminder: I released the first Gas-Masked axis model. It was for the light infantry, and I released it when 1.3B was the current version.

Wow.... i am stunned beyond words. YAY!!! THEY ARE FINALLY OUT!!!! hehe. umm, will you do some for allied too?

Devin Kryss
06-03-2003, 10:01 PM
Yea, but I rememebr back in the old 2.0 forums, someone requested gasmaks, and someone mentioned they ahd seen an axis-light with one for 1.3b, but no one could dig it up.

Jello_Biafra

So you are planning on releasing a version w/o masks? I think they look great, but I don't really want the gask masks.

Nice work as always dev, did you conver the MP40 guy with the the hat over too or jus the helmet version?

Can these submodels be mixed and matched with the non-trenchcoat SS submodels?

06-04-2003, 04:41 AM
Give me that MP-40!

FIGUUR

Could you modify the helmets to go wtih the model. When you look at the mp40 wielding guy his cap got shot off... He doesnt have a cap... Come to think of it, he didnt even loose his helmet...

How do you fix that? Could you remove the helmet models from he folder? That way they wouldnt loose helmets? Or would this cause errors?

Cannon_Fodder

They look incredible!
Wow, I just noticed they got separate fingers and all!
Definitely using these. Then turning my fog into a yellow color to simulate poison gas. :D

OMG good idea! Too bad the fog is so screwed up...

How are the polies on these models compared to the default ones?

hey dude very nice job, but could you please, please, please, convert your trenchcoat version 1's from dod_3.1. Those were the best models ever dude :D

No, he looks pretty stupid wearing a Hat and a Gasmask.

Can these submodels be mixed and matched with the non-trenchcoat SS submodels?

They sure can.

Could you modify the helmets to go wtih the model. When you look at the mp40 wielding guy his cap got shot off... He doesnt have a cap... Come to think of it, he didnt even loose his helmet...

In order to have multiple variated Headgear, I had to permently bind the helmet to the heads. So the helmets wont fly off. You can make the axis-helmet model blank though. So when you shoot someones head, you dont see a helmet fly off.

Look in your mapmodels folder. You will find a model named Null.mdl. Copy that, and rename it to the helmet_axis.mdl and Hat_axis.mdl and copy them into your models folder. Null.mdl is just a completly blank model. SO your sort of replaceing the helemt gibs with an invisible model.

How are the polies on these models compared to the default ones?

Much much higher than the default.

hey dude very nice job, but could you please, please, please, convert your trenchcoat version 1's from dod_3.1.

Dude, these ARE the trenchcoats from 3.1.

Now, ill go do a gasmaskless version as well.

Why not make the helmet model an ear with blood around it , so you could shot he's ear of instead....lol..if you don't i might.....:)

I think thats a good idea, this is awesome work as usual but the only custom stuff I use these days is sounds. Until the day comes when I get a new computer.

Devin Kryss

But who would you want goggles on?
