help with mortar field

yeah im a die hard im making a map for dod 1.3 not source but anyway

having trouble with my mortar field
its supposed to be triggered when a player walks into a certain spot
i did this bfor but cant figure out what i did wrong

what do i need to make it work besides the func_mortar_field

sorry if i sound like a bumbling goof but i cant remember and i cant find anything on this type of thing only the ones that have a button to push

i tried this which i found here someplace but it doesnt work

Make a brush what ever size you want and cover all faces of it with a trigger texture

Assign this brush to a func_mortarfield and name it "mort1"

Now make another brush and cover it with a trigger texture

Assign this brush to a trigger_multiple and make its target "mort1relay"

Now add a trigger_relay point entity and make its name "mort1relay" and make its target "mort1"


Thats it now when you walk through the trigger_multiple the trigger_relay will target the func_mortarfield and will act as if the players killed by the mortar were killed by worldspawn

No. I never got mortar fields to work in 1.3.
