[WIP] dod_lostcoast

First of all let me give credit to Valve , the lostcoast team for this awsome level which you will soon know as dod_lostcoast converted or ported from lostcoast mod to day of defeat source . :D

This is a Great map hopefully all of the dods comunity can get some good play on this map or atleast alot more than lostcoast did .

Here are the first two screens from my first quick compile I fixed alot of issues last nite and will post new screen as soon as they are ready hope you enjoy !

Feed back and suggestion are welcome !

lets add some flags and get rid of the combine stuff and we'll have a multi map!!

I'm wondering how this is going to work. I assume one team starts from the bottom where Gordon starts, but if the passages up to the top are exactly the same they are very narrow and will be easy to block with machinegunners, and difficult for the advancing team. Also is it going to be a bomb map? That could work quite nicely if the eventual bomb spot is in the courtyard.

I'm sorry but whats the point? It's not a DOD based map, or a WWII one either.

I just don't see the point in converting a map to DoD unless it fits the criteria.

well if all the non-ww2 content would be replaced this could be a very interesting dod map.

Well lets see the point would be I and several others love the map and would love to see it in dod source so I deceited to give it a try wether you like it or not makes no difference to me .

Now what makes it not a dod based map ?

Have you ever heard of a battle on a beach trying to concor the land ?

Thats what I see when I look at this map allies on the beach climbing the hill axis on top defending it what makes this map so different in your opinion do you see modern buildings or sky scapers some where that makes this map look like it should not be in dods ?

Maybe it has orange or purple textures WTF am i blind tell me ?

Just what is a WWII based map to you all the none dod content has been removed except the boats and even they look ok to me .

I have started to add dods content and i removed all the none dod content right from the start .

Are you extending the map to include other ways up? If not, then it's completely wrong. I get pissed off when people get in my way in the rush out of spawn. Imagine that **** all the way up the side of the cliff.

So in conclusion, unless you are making several different routes to the top, then it will not work.

have some ropes tht are climbable, and like toby said a few other ways up and it could be a winner!

Already thought of all that after our first playtest last weekend thanks more routes will be added to get to the top.
