Looks a lot like a 1.3 map?
Thanks for the mirror, and for adding the map to your guys' servers!
Here are a few more screenshots.

Interesting color trim. Is that a custom texture?

Looks a lot like a 1.3 map?
I agree.
@Cpl. Punishment: Yeah I made about 30 or so custom textures for the map...bricks, stone, stucco, concrete, wallpaper, some wood trim, etc.... as you can see I'm also using a number of the default HL2/DoD textures as well. The sky is custom too (made in Terragen)...but ALL the models are official DoD models, as are the overlay textures...
Too be honest, it looks a bit bland and empty....i think it needs more detail and better lightning.

the map plays pretty well though.
And that's what matters most!
While I haven't played it the screenies invoke that snowcity map from 1.3, anyone else think that?

great textures on that tank ! Not to mention, great tank !!!!!! do you use xsi ?
i really like how you have the map inclosed, because after the wall, you still have snow and buildings. It looks good with the skybox behind it all. puts you right in the map, which is great for game play like everyone is saying.
As for your textures, im blown away. from brick to wood, nothing looks repeated, very very very awsome. This map is great for clan battles indeed.

...the tank model/texture is included with DoD:S :)
I'm glad some of you guys' have tried it out, and like the gameplay!
@Tyler: That tank is one of the official DoD models....I didn't use any custom models.....but the textures (about 35 or so) are custom...as well as the sky. I did use about 10 or so HL2/DoD textures as well.
I could have definitely put in more static props and overlays to give more detail, but the map is pretty wide-open, so it would have started to affect the framerate. Maybe it was poor planning on my part to have the map as open as it is, but the gameplay turned out pretty well, so I decided not to seal off parts of the map from one another....which would have allowed me to add more detail. Also, every structure in the level (except 2) can be occupied.

I'm really excited to try this one out, DVD. Lots of new textures make for a refreshing map.
We ran the previous version (with the wacky yellow fire?) on our FNF SnowDay but it didn't get much play. Good stuff!

A bit disappointed this is the final, because the gameplay definitely seems to be pretty good. Without considering some visual improvements and maybe some tightening of a few building interiors, there are a few readily apparent issues that could have been fixed for a final, for instance: scoring doesn't work; no audio clue after caps (maybe by design?), and some players on both sides spawn immediately exposed to enemy fire.
Good work nonetheless, especially for a first Source map! Feel free to revisit it for a frostvale2 someday. :) Thanks for the map and keep mapping!

the game play is good.. however the map itself just seems much to clean.....it lacks detail......just an opinion however..

With a little work, this map will be a real winner. Our regulars like the fast game play and the ability to change the momentum very quick.
I agree w/ Ukulele on all his issues, but really think those spawns need to be protected so a MG can't set up and mow people down when they spawn.
In my opinion, one of the better maps, game play wise in the past 6-8 months. If you play this map correctly, who has time to look at detail.
Good Job.
