Creating a server from my pc for internet users.

Hi all! I have been workign with the Hammer map editor for the past few days trying to create some custom maps and am having alot of trouble getting it onlife for my friends to try. I go to create server in game and use my map sa the map to use, i load everything normal and fine. However, they cant see the game. AT ALL. Not even by using the friends tab to filter the games down to the ones friends are in. PLEASE for the love of god help me : ( I have been working on this for days now and am SO close to being able to whoop on my friends hardcore on it : (

i have tried it and it was a no go. i typed it into console. and nothing indicated it went through, and my friend still couldnt see my server : (

You need to find documentation for your router and look for Port Forwarding. The ports you need to forward should be 27000 to 27020.

Let me know if that works for you.

Once those ports are forwarded, you need to know your IP. You can get your IP from whatsmyip.com and give that to your friends.

Make sure they have the map, or they will be downloading it from you at a trickle rate, and will take forever, so email it or something to them. It's less of a hassle that way.

I used that ^^
doing it has never worked for any programs before. But i haven't had a chance to have any look and see if its there yet.
