[WIP] Bunker Textures

I know this is the mapping section but this IMO would be a more suitable place for this then in the MSA section.

I'm currently working on a small bunker texture set for release to the general HL2 modding community. So far I've made one base texture that will have some alterations done to it like doors, cracks, painted sections and so on.

Here are some examples of what I've got so far.

Some textures will only tile horizontally while others will go both ways due to their design.

I'm most likely going to make two sets with different base textures with about 10 versions to each set which will total around 20 textures total. I will endevour to also make bump/normals for each texture aswell.

Also any Crit is welcome, these are all WIP and subject to change :)

looking good :) finally some more textures!

crit: i'm not quite sure, but i think this specific shape (see pic below) in the base texture will give a very repetitive pattern to the applied geometry. but you'll have to try out in hammer/dod:s to make sure.

Yer need to lighten tht up or remove it I think. :)

Would it be possible to make it an overlay instead? That way it could be applied wherever the mapper wants it to be applied, and it wouldn't tile.

Yeah, besides that spot, they look very nice.

Do you mean the stained area? If so yes it could be made into an overlay

Yes, that's what I meant. The bunker texture looks great otherwise.

I'm going to try and clean the texture up so that stain doesn't look so bad, I may just remake the stain into an overlay and release it with the set.

If you have that stain on a separate layer then you can probably get away with running it through a generic seamless tile filter. Im not a photoshop guy so I couldnt really help with the name of the filter but they are pretty common.

I know of a couple, but I prefer making my own seamless textures, I've got more control that way.

That stain as pointed out is going to tile to obviously so I'll sort it out.

For texture making... and probably helpful in this image. If you haven't already tried it... the photoshop effect "shadows/highlights" or whatever it's called lets you filter out value variation with a few parameters. It's super helpful for creating a consistent texture without the lighting bias from the photo.

I'm still working away slowly on these, started making a wall texture with a door in it. I need to add some slight shadowing around the edges of the door to simulate it being in a doorway or all things ;)
