anybody elses' sdk borked??

it won't launch after the might need restarting but if not, any ideas

yesterday a friend of mine couldn't launch it either so i googled and found this:

Adding -engine ep1 to the launch options for the Source SDK tool
will set the launcher to run the Ep1 versions of Hammer Face Poser, and Model Viewer
that worked for him.

that fixed my problem, sdk loads and hammer works thats all I need.

This is a known issue. Until this is fixed, you'll have to selt Options in Hammer, then go to the tab that says General, and down at the bottem, deselect VGUI Model Viewer or something like that.

It's not has good as the other model browser but it gets the job done for the time being.

as an update, with this command it works, but as he mentioned the model viewer in hammer is not working properly :(

when i work in hammer with ep2 selected as current game it works fine.

but when i select day of defeat source as current hammer quits as soon as i try to create a brush or a prop_static.

is there something wrong with my settings?

Have you restarted Steam recently? Today's update fixed the error with the VGUI in all Episode 1 games. I was able to create brushes and props without any errors when I tested it.

Yes there's something wrong with your settings. You're using the EP2 era tools with a game that hasn't been ported to this engine yet. Your vbsp/vvis/vrad tools are pointing to the orangebox folder and not the regular bin one.

As far as the default entities (left hand side of your screen) I wouldn't choose these (not even sure they're in the dod fgd. Ai_speechfilter certainly is never used, and color_correction_volume may only be used every once in a great while.

thanks furyo, it's working again. i also had to add -enigne ep1 as a starting option which i had deleted yesterday after the update.

Still wont work for me, nothing comes up after I click Source SDK and I added enigne ep1 to the launch options.

put one space infront of -engine ep1 this worked for me
the first time i forgot it :D

Did you try it with or without a hyphen? Try "-engine ep1".... that should work.
