OK folks, here it is. After months in development, my latest baby is in the can!

I can't comment on the gameplay but overall its has a pretty decent look. What you should work on:

There needs to be more light inside the houses
Better texture choices
Less blocky feel in a select few spots

I really liked the looks of the allied spawn area (and the chicken model is damn :cool: )

Also im curious as to how much of the X/Y axis this takes up in Worldcraft.

looks good, but the yellow text on white background for a website is horrible to read, please make it something a little more soothing on the ol' eyes.

Actually, the site has a background picture that is black with red and orange embers and such...

I think you were having a problem with the page not loading properly or refreshing. It's usually white before the image loads.

I think it might have something to do with the bandwidth limitations of the free site or something...sorry bout that.

About the darkness of some of the houses interiors...they aren't as dark as those screens would lead you to believe.

Part of the problem was how they were captured...and part of the problem is that changes were made after they were taken.

Once you d/l and play on the map you will get a better picture...so to speak...lol. ;)

How about making good .zip paths to the file?
How about not including every model/sprite/sound in the zip (huge file size)?

I looked into the map for 10 minutes and I really like what I saw so far. I cannot comment on the gameplay yet, but jugding from the visuals, this is one of the better custom maps out there at the moment.

skdr...actually, I didn't include every model in the zipfile...for instance an HK model used in jagd...or xerents trees...or the outz hill...or zalecs wires...and a couple others. I did however try to include anything I thought someone out there might not have.

I don't know about you, but I hate downloading a map and installing it, only to have my halflife crash due to a model that was missed. I was trying to make the map as fool-proof as possible for those people out there that don't have a bulging model folder. Aside from that, there IS quite a bit in the map itself. Not just models, but everything in general. I believe the BSP alone is somewhere in the neighbourhood of 8mb with my wadincluded.

Also included in the map download are Sturmbot waypoints, a fairly rubust wav file which plays as the credits scroll by, the sky, and all the rest of what you might need to play the map.

About the zip directory structure...I'm definately not a zip guru by any stretch, sorry bout that...maybe you could give me some pointers. :)

Just finished testing this out with some bots. I meant to do it for about 5 - 10 min and kept going for an hour, so what does that tell ya lol.

If I were to make a few suggestions:

~better lighting in the mansion.

~put a board/ramp up to the door to go through house exit in Allied spawn. Maybe just because I tested with bots, but the jump confused them alot.

~minimap

Other then that, great map!

I was playing online last night on my map with a few of you good men from around here. There were some very good points brought up in regards to the map.

There were a couple small problems discovered so I will recompile the map to take care of those issues, plus add a map detail. I had removed it due to the added compile time...but I think if I'm going to recompile an improved version...I may as well do it. :)

Some things I have changed:

*The lighting in a select few places will be changed. From 25 to 40. That should brighten things up a tad...

*Removal of a couple explosion sprites. Lag and entity reduction.

*Some quick clip work...DOH!

*Re-translate a German word...I guess I kinda got the "for sale" translation messed up a bit. :(

*Clip Ramp in allied spawn area for bots.

*Removed some extrenuous entities.

*All trees will cast shadows.

...and thats about all I can think of right now.

Thanks again to German Killa and his friends for playing. That was the first time playing with humans and not just bots. It was fun. Thanks again guys.

I just finished playtesting it on Mayberry. Really nice job. I like the right side of the map from the axis perspective (Gazebo, Backyard, big hill etc...) quite a bit. Not a huge fan of the mansion area but the rest is great. Looks good too.

Interesting choice for music when you connect as well.

I checked this out yesterday for quite a while with the bots... I changed a couple of the waypoints to help the flow out of the allied spawn... I changed a couple of the "crouch/walk" points to "Door points" .. The bots still slowed down, but not as drastically.. Seemed to work fine...

All I can say is wow.. Great map... It has a really cool atmosphere with the rain and thunder... Good work... Even though the bots don't navigate all the ladders as eficiently as human players do the map was still action packed... GG
