Is there a way to make a target rotate backwards when shot?

Let me change it then, How do you make a brush move to the right then to the left when a button is pressed, like for target practice

if you replace "left" and "right" by "open" and "close" in your sentence, you've already found the answer :)
Make the target a func_door, and set it so "on fully open" it closes itself and "on fully closed" it opens. Depending on the original state of the door (open or close), your button should trigger it to either open or close so it starts moving.

If you want it to actually move forward and backward, I think you have to parent it to a func_tracktrain.
