[Mrel] Jagd Horsa Glider hack job
Ska Wars

How do,
Seeing as jagd is my favourite map for 1.0 I fort I'd have a go at a hackjob of the glider.
Dances with Wolves has also done a little reskin for my doc hackjob to make it look better.
It wasn't until I tried the glider in game that I realised jus how fecking big the docs are lol But anyway, i'm happy with it and I hope you like it too.
The credits are bloody huge for this, but heres the quick version.

Wheres that Sten from? I like the front handle and i think someone made a w and p models but i don't think there was a v model for it.

Thats your dad? cool lol I bet you look like the guy in your sig in real life jed lol
Sorry for using your faces on all the brit models I work on, i jus think they're the best. I've loved them since I got Klown's Brit pack in 3.1
The Sten there is the P_model from my unreleased MK5 sten gun. The V model is down and the p/w models are almost ready, Jus need someone to animate the V model so he holds the foregrip.

I "re-did" the map textures for the documents, how does it look?

That Mk5 was in my 3.1 Brit Airborne pack as a v_model being held by the barrel sleeve. I even fixed the texture creep in it.
Don't know if it works for 1.0.

Erm, why did you put an anzio map in there? Caen is in France, anzio is in Italy.
The battle for Anzio was fought by the Americans not the British by was over by the time the battle for Caen got going. Also (correct me if I'm wrong) ain't JagD supposed to be set around Caen anyway?

BTW Jed, did you make this sten? if so i need to fix my credits as the sten that I've based my hack job on (the P/W models anyway) were taken from a brit pack by glimsharp/rusty. The grease gun replacement.

Well, they're stretched propely now.
I just picked Anzio, didn't think of whether or not it was geogrphically close to "Jagd" or not.
I'll re-do it with Caen later on when I get home, going out now.
Ska_Wars and Dances W Wolves, nice job on your jagd thing. And i have a question for you Ska_Walker. You did a Jeep Model earlier and i was woundering where it came up in the game.....it wasnt replacing anything so where would it come up?

*mumbles to self* take piss outta me will you, i'll ram a handle up your ass and mop the floor with you you little..... *ends mumbling*
Anyway, the Jeeps can be found on Vincenza. it was a map included with the retail version but not the mod version.
You can download it from www.dodsupply.co.uk (http://www.dodsupply.co.uk)

To tell you the truth mate I have *no idea* where it came from. its been flating around on my hard disk since beta 2.0 along with Rusty's Enfields and Jman's Bren.
I guess you still have the original - Marzy and I took a lot of the exisiting Brit models before 1.0 came out and fixed up a lot of the bugs in them and stripped out a lot of un-seen faces to reduce the poly count (hence Marzy's high poly scope'd enfield having less polys than the original Enfield on its own!)
On the Mk5 Sten, I fixed up the bugger bolt on it and mated it to Sgt Furying animations so it was held properly and tweaked the player anims to reload it properly.

Now if only someone would make a replacement for the horrible looking glider itself in jagd.

The glider model itself is fine. its jus in desperate need of a reskin.

Ska, 1 dead soldier is nice, but why not more? I mean, was he the only guy in the glider?
Ska Wars

Erm.... *thinks hard*
He was the only one to survive the crash lol I dunno mate, I'll make a better version once my exams are over.

The pilots usually came of worse in gliders. It was usually the fragile front that hit the ground/hedge/wall first or even worse the tank/pack howitzer behind them shot forward on impact and crushed them.

Ska that is something that bothers me about the story of Jagd:
Why would you put secret plans in a Glider? Gliders come down ON PURPOSE. Shouldn't you have the brains to put them in a Dakota atleast?
Trp. Jed
06-04-2003, 06:59 AM
Why? The Dakota's just tow the gliders and bugger off again, its the gliders that go into battle.

yeah, but why put the plans in something that is going into battle?
Ska_Walker!!!!!!!! Ska_Wars i think you should change your name. LOL....*Remembers to himself what Ska_Wars said bout me*
*MUMBLES TO HIMSELF- Ska_Wars.....you come near my bum with anything ill beat to to death....-Stops Mumbling.

Well its usually a good idea to know what your doing during the battle...
*HINT* I think Jagd is loosly based around the story of the german soldier who found a crashed Horsa glider full of dead British soldiers. One of them was an officer carrying a map case containing maps and plans for the entire operation.
Taken in that context, if they knew the guv'nors gliders gone down somewhere with the battle plans in, you'd probably send out a patrol to find it before Gerry does.

Yeah, there's a scene similar to that in a Bridge too Far I think.
Usually the Captains would carry the plans while other officers would jus get a map and have to memorise there orders (I think).
Personally I think JagD is the best map in DoD. I think it would be cool if they add .50cal MG to the roof of the tanks that you could use. It would definately make it easier to defend then buggers lol
