Texture/shadows problem

Hi
After a couple compiles my map started to look funny.. ish
This is what I get now, shadows on all sides on every texture in the ground.
The squares are the same size as generated from Terrain Generator (Nem's Tools)
I applied the texture in Hammer.

and I don't know why..
Anyone knows what the problem is?

well one thing i know that happens with textures is if you use a texture that is made for a prop or model, sometimes they dont work right on bruses, not sure if thats what is doing that tho

These textures are regular textures from dod.
I get the shadows no matter what texture I use... So, when I start to think about it... it's no problem with the texture, it's the "ground".
Could it be after my trial and error stuff with invert alpha and such?

Have you done a fast compile?

Yes, the compile will take hours otherwise...

It appears that the invert alpha was the problem.
I will do a final compile over the night and see to be sure.

The dark lines are from a fast vrad (lighting) compile.
The trees are because you used a skybox texture on the ground

I have done fast vrad compiles before with no dark lines.
The texture your referring to, nature/argentan_skygrasstrees, is being used in the same way as the DoD team use it. Look in the dod_argentan map.

You normally get dark lines around displacement surfaces after running a fast compile.
Is this really a displacement? I NEVER get anything like that on a fast compile... ever!
