My grandfather fought with the brittish troops and he carried this Thompson 1928 and I'm really disapointed it isn't used in dayofdefeat so that's why i'm asking for this. It doesn't need to have a drumbag magazine because only the first clip(wich was already attached to the thompson) was a drumbag, the others where regular "box" magazines wich were easier to reload. I'd like to see this really and I'd be appreciated if anyone would make this(or convert it). And I'm sorry if this was asked before but I checked the search and didn't found anything.

and if possible a w_ and p_ model :) would be kinda silly to pick up a sten and carry a thompson ;)

I released a 1928 Thompson awhile ago, skinned by Bots. Look on the Pokemart for it, it should work as a Sten replacement (as I recall, the Sten, Thompson, and MP40 use the same code).

Yeah I would like this too, Cheeto is there a way you can put the 1.0 hands on it? I tried but I failed miserably Im not very good with MSA stuff.

BTW I just saw a show on the History Channel last night about D-Day and It had a British guy talking about the beach landings and stuff and I saw like 5 soldiers with Thompsons both the Tommy Gun 1928 version and the M1A1 Thompson ;)

When i remake my Desert Rats I'll probally use the 1928 tommy gun instead of a sten.

From what i remember the tommy was only really used in the pacciffic and Africa. It wasn't used much in Europe after mid '44 but it would still be cool to have one.

P_models would look weird though lol

*Edit* i stand corrected, alot of Commandos still used the US version of the tommy and alot of Lance Corporals kept their 1928 tommy guns instead of trading them in for a sten.

Nah I was wrong. I had forgot that the Commandos who landed at sword beach led by Lord Lovett (I think) used M1A1 Thompsons.

I think you mean M1A1 (M4A1 is a modern weapon) I dont know but I think the 20/30 round thompson box magazine could fit in the M1928 ?

i have no idea actually, maybe he had some spare magasines left, I really don't know

It probably did fit. Was your Grandfather able to keep the gun after the war? That would be fun to see :D

yes, he has it, when he got into battle in 1941 he had it and he carried it around during the whole war, and I still have it

i think if you ask permission and give credits i don't think it would be a big deal, as long as we get a tommy :D

yeah I think the 1928 tommy can be used with straight mags. As far as i can tell its the same reciever shape so it work fine.

I'd love to have a 1928 tommy gun lol I love the whole 1930's US gangster scene so one of those would jus be cool as hell lol

Yeah me too ska, I was going to buy Mafia but I downloaded the demo and it lagged horribly at the gun fights, it just didnt agree with my video card I think :(

As soon as you get a better video card get mafia! Its one of my favourite games ever.

The story is pretty damn good, and the levels are huge. The gun fights are pretty good too cos it aint one of those game where you can shrug off a load of wounds, so you're always on your toes in gun fights. The cars are fecking cool too lol

I think Gabagoo converted the main character from Mafia to dod, but i dunno if he released it.

I jus love gangsta films in general, especailly ones set in the '30s like Hoodlum, Billy Bathgate, Valentines Day, Road to Perdition, Last Man Standing etc

They're unregistered and for some stupid reason you have to disable it or destroy it. The model I made is mine, I can do what I want with it. :)

If someone does this please compile it with US sleeves as well. I want to replace my Thompson with it, my grandfather carried a Sten Mk.II and I am never giving it up now that I fanally have one in game. (Other then a model over the Thompson that is.)

Also if you read the page I linked, you can own them with licenses, or there are ways to make them semi-auto and therfore legal.

I've already done it. :D Just waiting for bots to finish his school paper and then skin this foregrip real quick. I'm using the default anims for 1.0, but because of the FOV thing, I had to warp my model a bit to make it fit, so the rear grip looks a little funny, but I don't know that you'll be able to see it.

I think if you use a P_model maybe the best way to this is to edit the regular thompson P_model, darken it up a bit and add a drumbag instead of a straight magasine.

No Quaker mate, your getting confused. It's nothing to do with the p_model of the gun.

You can make the p_model however you want, but he will still hold it wrong because the animations on the player model are designed too look like he is holding a sten.

The only way he could hold the gun correct is by editing the animations of the player model.

Oh, i don't think you'll have any problems with P models.

Well I haven't done the drum mag becaus the default anims won't fit that. I have to re-animate it for that. This is the box mag with the finned barrel, Cutts Compensator, and horiztonal foregrip.

As for p_models, it WILL work just fine with the default Thompson anims, however you're right that it'll look funky with the Sten unless you recompile your Brits to use the Thompson anims instead.

Yeah I'm not too crazy about the sten I'd love a Tommygun for it(I'm American so I want that whole 1930's mafia thing too). If I were gangster back then though, I'd be packin a BAR.

Got any pics of that tommeh? I would love to see in what conditions it is after so much time.. Ever shoted with it?
