thx a million that you make diversion for source.
but the old 1.3 version played a custom sound at a round win - can you get that sound and include it to your map?
the 2nd point, the roof about the middle flag. i m wondering that nobody already posted about it. i think i don t like it, it is a nice try, an idea - but on the old version you needed always 3people to get the middle, 2 captured the flag and 1 watched the upper level for campers.
please remove it or make it breakable.

Yes, I was wondering about the unbreakable/bullet-proof roof above the mid on diversion_b2 as well. May I ask what's the motivation for that modification? The fight around the mid and the need to secure the upper level before capping was a staple of the original map, and one of the things that made its gameplay interesting (IMHO). Any chance to have it reverted to the original/b1 configuration?
Great work nonetheless. Great to play saints again. :)

May I ask what's the motivation for that modification?
After some pcw/tests it turned out that the map is not a competitive map because of the "too hard to cap middle" thing.
That is why i made the glass roof unbreakable (+bulletblock)
Until now most people say that was a step in the right direction :)

The original diversion 1.3 was a favourite on our servers and a staple in the SLDL (http://www.sunlitgames.net/sldl_main.php) . The community was very excited to receive the b1 version but the most asked question with the upload of diversion_b2 was "Why the skylight?" The open area above the fountain demanded team work in matches and in pubs. Our players had the same response to the changes from strasbourg_b1 to b2. :( I was aware of your "theme" behind bacoma to be that of catering to the 6v6 format and tactics of CAL and so didn't post a comment earlier. Regardless, you have a talent for porting over some of the favourite maps of 1.3 and we thank you.

Great maps :)
However, besides the glass roof at mid, you also changed one of the side routes leading to mid on Diversion. I've always loved that map (Darkwing Duck FTW) and played b1 every chance I could, but b2 is simply not the Diversion I've always enjoyed playing. I'm lobbying to get my clans server to revert back to b1, but there was some question about other fixes between the two versions. Perhaps 'classic' versions where everything is pretty much just like it was on the originals. Santos and Bayeux are pretty good for that.
Just thought I'd throw that in here.
Thanx for all the hard work in bringing these to the community:)

I guess the BIG question is whether the "competitive" community will adopt these "edited" maps into their schedule. If they dont want to take on the challenge of custom maps, then perhaps the maps can revert to the versions more like the original gameplay.

Nice work bauer on these maps. Some very nice ports. its efforts like yours, the CAMP team folks, and some other hardcore mappers that have made this game what it is.
weeeeeeee!! btw these are beautiful maps with great fps and good play. what more could one ask for? I have some of the same thoughts as rosie...but you can't please every one.

thats interesting, in this forum people dislike the changes (strasbourg and diversion), in other (competitive) forums people like the idea of making the maps more competitive.
anyway i really appreciate that you see the idea behind bacoma and don't start to flame and complain about every little thing (like it is in other forum ;) )

yeah bauer...like I said. I am in both communities so I see the differences in opinion...I used to be the main forum admin on Trypants until real life took me away.

The Bacoma maps rock, and you did a fine job Mr Bauer :)
These maps were favorites back in the day, so they were destined to be a hit in source.

Bauer, Excellent maps...
Why are people complaining???   maybe they don't have any thing else to do???
Some people will never be happy so don't let them bother you. Your maps are doing very well on my gaming community.
Many thanks again!!!
