The buttpack in DODS is just silly and unrealistic.

Is there any way it can be removed? And if so, will somebody be willing to remove it for me, and send me the updated models?

You mean the rectangular looking thing with shiny buckles? I'm not sure about authenticity, but why is it unrealistic for them to wear such equipment?

If he means the 1918 Trench Knife:

It's not unrealistic at all, I'm sure many of them made it into WWII.

No, I think he means the tan pack with U.S. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Dods.jpg) on it.

I'm not sure if this is a model of its own, part of the player model or what?

Ahh...how is that unrealistic? The DID have those packs during WWII...he needs to look at some pictures.

Yes, it's part of the playermodel, so I doubt you can remove it.

This right?

Its too small to be a musette. And yes, I am talking about the BUTT PACK.

The small, rectangular pack that is on the rear of the American belts. Such an item wasn't worn in WWII. I dare you find photographical evidence of american GI's wearing buttpacks.

If it were a musette, it should be ALOT bigger. Almost as wide as the back of a soldier.

The buttpack was part of the M1956 web gear system, and musettes were meant to be worn on the M1936 suspenders (on the back) or on a strap slung over a shoulder. It's possible that they were worn as buttpacks, but I've never seen any photographical evidence.

I reenact WWII, and have several complete sets of WWII US web gear. And I have never encountered a small pack like that. Trust me, musettes are far too large.

The buttpack in the game is unrealistic. It's far too small to be a musette. So why is it there?

DoD is not a hardcore realism simulation, it never was either.

You'd have to remove it from the player model.

I think it'd be really simple to remove it. I'll see what I can do tomorrow.
