2 Submissions at once, and then it is going to be quiet for some time..................
already had both of these done, got some extra time this weekend to package them up - which takes a lot longer than you would think! So without further babbling:
CAMOUFLAGE JOSEF
the standard German Camo smock and helmet cover. Honestly, there were dozens of different German camo patterns and uniform combinations over the years. This one is the Oak B / Fall camo pattern. Usually these type smocks and covers were worn by Waffen SS units, however a very large number also made their way to the regular Wehrmacht.
CAMO JOE
"In the summer of 1944, the US Army issued a limited number of the 2 piece HBT camouflage uniform. Troops of the 41st Armored Infantry Battalion (2nd Armored Division) were the primary recipients. Due to a large number of "friendly fire"
incidents, the uniforms were withdrawn around the end of August. Apparently, anyone wearing camouflage was considered to be German."
To be perfectly honest, the helmet cover, while an actual issue item with this uniform, does not appear in any historical WW2 photos from Germany. But it looks cool so I put it in anyway. It was NOT the same uniform used by the Marines, but it WAS the exact same camo pattern and cloth.
