Well, here it is...

The DAY OF DEFEAT BETA 3.1 WEAPONS PACK!

These are the actual weapon MODELS and SOUNDS that were taken directly from the original DoD beta 3.1 file that have been transferred over to work with the newest version of Day of Defeat. And after creating a handful of individual model releases from this version, I have decided to put it all into one package!

If you are like me and have been playing DoD since it's golden days, you remember some of the old skins and models. Well, here is the ultimate entry iof conversions that I am sharing with you! Relive those old days with this nostalgic model and sound pack that go along with it!

I am not a modeler, skinner, or modder. I am just an old DoD player that wants to use those classic models!

Enjoy!

-----
KNOWN ISSUES:
-The M1 Garand's melee attack animation is missing.
-The BAR does not have any reload animations when it is setup. This is because the beta 3.1 version of DoD did not have that feature for the BAR yet.
-Some of the animations cut a tad short.

I wish. You know, I think that if you had a knowledgeable coder, they would be able to transfer older versions of DoD over to Steam. They did it with Counter-Strike (CS 1.0), so why not with DoD?

That would be amazing.

You can. Almost every version of DoD is (or was) playable through Steam. I played many a game of Beta 3.1 through Steam about six months ago. Now, you can still run Beta 3.1 through Steam...but it won't load the sprites.:(

Yeah, it turns them into the ammo sprites right? Because that is what it did when I just replaced all of the 1.3 files with the Beta 3.1 files. Is it possible to use the 1.3 sprites? It seems like it would just work like a custom crosshair. But yeah, I'm sure there is even a way to fix that. Coders please?

I'll be the first to say it...good work but IMO this really goes to show you how well the current Source models are in comparison. Add in Coyote's stuff and although I understand this is a solid excercise in technique and "let's-see-if-I-can-do-it", I think you'd be better served to use your talent looking forward...not back.

ugh i sure don't miss the hand textures. I can't remember but isn't it possible to replace the animations using milkshape or whatever? so that there isn't any skips or missing anims?

Well, the thing is. I really do not have any modding skills at all here. I just figured out a way to bring these old models into the newest version of the original DoD. I realize that they are not pretty, some there are people out there that prefer to the old models and sounds. I for one prefer the old Thompson (the 1.3 Thompson's models and sounds are just awful) and the old Kar98.
