1 512x512 map. I'm not very good at skinning but this is what I managed to make. Model by Anti-Death.

well if anti-death gives you permission to use it, this would definitely be the best v_model to practice you skills on.

Small update - I've darkened and desaturated the grip a little, and darkened and increased the contrast of the metal. Render. (http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/1212/kabar3bk0.jpg)

I've managed to compile to model, but the materials and wrists are jacked.

Well the wrists are fixed, and some ingame joy :) Still need to tweak the smd though.


And I managed to get the w_model to keep its texture coordinates :)


I'm going to try and make some normal and spec maps now.

If you can, that handle is still looking a bit flat and too saturated. Suggestion, bring the sat down a little bit more than last time, and maybe add some random color blotches that you'd see on used wood. Metal looks great, though. :D

I'll probably touch up the diffuse after I've finished with the normals and phong. Speaking of which, here are some screenies:

Normal maps are about done, still playing with the phong exponent map. I'm gonna reposition the knife for a final compile (assuming I get permission to release)

Nice Wile, you found a picture that I couldn't. I searched for about 10 for a closeup of the handle to no avail.:)

sgtflibble, the handle is still looking too orange in my opinion.

I've altered the grip colour a bit, is it any better? I've added some normal mapping to the grip to make it more interesting (I know it's supposed to be smooth). I've messed around with the phong settings and maps, and this is what I've come up with:


Personally, I think the blade should have more shine, but I'd like other peoples crits and ideas.

I've PMed Anti-Death on CDG about releasing, still waiting for a reply.

Looks kinda wet, like Fakefactory's Alyx >_>, but that's ok and the handle looks much better.
