Dot crosshair for regular DOD

Hi everyone,

I'm recently coming back to DOD after a long time. I'm playing the non-source version on steam. I'd like to change the crosshair to just a simple dot. Is there a pack I can download? And into which folder do I need to put it?

I've been trying to work this out myself but had no luck. I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

There are some here:

(Look under Sprites)

Also, Insane_dod in the resident spritemaster around these parts. He might make one for you. :)

Insane_dod had some, I think he took them off his website for fear of getting players accidentally banned when Pure first came out, not exactly sure you'd have to ask him

Yeah, I checked his site first, didn't see any either.

Thanks guys, I'll try out the url. I actually found his insane pack but am confused as to where it should go within the steam directory.

Well, I checked out the website but couldn't find any instructions on how to make the new crosshairs work. Can anyone give me some suggestions? Thanks.

Custom crosshairs may not work with sv_pure 1 and do not work with sv_pure 2.

For a dot cross hair with default files, you can use the following commands:
cl_crosshair_red "255"
cl_crosshair_green "0"
cl_crosshair_blue "0"
cl_crosshair_alpha "255"
cl_crosshair_file "crosshair3"
cl_crosshair_scale "5"
cl_dynamic_crosshair "1"

But if you do want to use one of the custom crosshairs, if you have installed it to the right file, cl_crosshair_file in teh console should show the available crosshairs, or you can do it through the options.

Frazer, thanks for the tip, however, where do you type these commands in? I tried doing it in the console but it said that the command was unknown. Any suggestions?

I have had a set of 16 for the old dod 1.3 up for a long time :)

It's in the tutorial section (http://dodbits.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=16&Itemid=36)... but all the files are in a download and a readme for install...or make your own.
