My favorite model release for 1.0 so far has been the .30 cal with the tripod. Props to the makers for that one!

The tripod .30 cal looks so much better from the first person perspective because you don't have the bipod that's not really rooted on anything sitting out there on the muzzle - that looks SOOOOO unrealistic. With the tripod it actually almost feels like you're swiveling the MG on it's stand, and that the stand itself is actually sitting on something...

Anyway, I don't even care if it is historically inaccurate or not; a tripod version of the German MGs would be greatly appreciated!!!

A tripod for the mg42 or 34 would not be unrealistic senator, they did in fact use tripods(although in a more defensive sense as tripods were a pain to carry). I for one would definately like a tripod-ed mg42 and 34. :D

From what I've read about the MG42, they did have tripods but they had to be weighted down with sandbags as the recoil and the fact that the tripods were a bit flimsy meant they would tip over to the left/right quite often.

Tripods were also used quite alot for the MG34, but I dunno how effective they were.

I'd still like to see some tripod versions, i think they would work quite well.

The German tripods were rather big and a sort of complicated. If someone did make it it would look really wierd for someone to be carrying it because it was pretty big. It would be like running around with this:
