Hello all,

I was curious about if i could use my old models from DoD on DoD:s?

As far as I know, that'd be a no. Even if you went through the process of porting the models (which would be a pain in itself), they'd be stopped by consistency on most servers due to their hitbox size, that is, unless you rescaled them to fit right.

All in all, I don't think it'd be worth it.

Thanks for answering my question.

Yeah, even if you were to port custom models that were originally made for 1.3, like Splinters Colt 1911A1 (which is a custom model, not a Valve default model) the new pure setting would more than likely block the model and you'd only see the default DoD:S colt model anyway.

There are two 1.3 models which were skinned by Splinter and ported to DOD:S, but again they would be blocked by the new settings. Sadly, it's not a good time to be using lots of custom content in Source games. :(

If you compile a new model (with a new directory of course) and a mapper zips it in the map, it's not a problem.

Well I think (I could be wrong though) he's talking about weapon models. I doubt a mapper would do that for those kind of models.

Oh, weapons, you're right, sorry.

Thanks for all the information. Srry I wasn't specific enough, I was mentioning weapon models.
