Quickest and easiest way to remove doors from old dod beta maps?This is for my own personal use so we can run more maps for my lan which use's SturmBot.Can anybody tell me what i need and how to do this please.

1. Do you have the Source SDK already? It includes the hammer editor, which you need for Mapping.
2. Do you want do work with own Levels or do you want to edit official Levels? If you plan on doing the latter, you'll probably get some copyright problems (not sure on this, the pro's will probably elaborate...? :) ). In any case you'll have a problem getting those Levels into a condition you can work with.
It's a bit like mixing eggs, sugar, flour, milk and butter, baking your cake for 20 minutes and - trying to extract the eggs afterwards :p.
3. Anyway, if you have the original and untouched .map or .vmf files of those maps you want to edit, removing the doors will be simple. You'll only need to select and delete them in hammer and run a compile of the map afterwards.

I only have Half-Life and the old dod beta installer's.I dont have Steam doe's this mean i will need a older version of hammer editor or will i have to use the hammer editor in Steam?
