WIP of a Junkers Jumo 211 engine, of the type used in several bombers in the Luftwaffe, perhaps most notably in the Ju87 "Stuka".

3538 tris at LOD0. Working on the texture now. Certainly not on par with the wonderful work posted around here, but hopefully I'm improving.

Constructive comments and criticism welcome and appreciated. Don't hurt me, I'm still relatively new at this - and I reserve the right to remain "new at this" until the model stop sucking. :p

that already looks pretty good. :) keep working on the different parts and their material/color/structure. atm, it looks a little like its all made out the same material.

some quick links to restored versions. This is what a brand-new "replacement" motor from the factory would look like. Thi engin color does not have to be black, the one you currently have is very appropriate and quite possibly more historically accurate ;) A "used" one would just look uniformley grimy with black oil-soaked dirt/sluge covering everything.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah, I used that pic for the paint color. I think it is made out mostly of the same material, with the exceptions of the shaft and the side "box". I'll try to differentiate them more.

I want it to look more than merely used, but not quite damaged. I'll try to work on the uniform grimness and oily dirt. Thanks for the pointers.

Interesting model. Reminds me of all the parts in the old dod_flugplatz.

That would look great sitting in a map with hangers (great cover).
