Ranger Joe Redux

Well I seemed to have totally forgotten about this one. I did all the other player skin in redux version, but obviously got sidetracked before I did this one. I hated to leave it to rot, and I know a lot of people preferred this one to the M1941 uniform, so I made a few alterations to the normal map and *poof* here it is. Since this is almost identical to the Private Joe skin I wanted to do something different, so I gave him a shaved head. And yes I am aware there is a typo in the installer stating this is an M1941 uniform (it's an M1943). I didn't feel like fixing it.

I think this is it for awhile. This skin was relatively easy to put out - most of the work was already done, all I had to do was tweak a couple of things and bundle it up. Lately though I don't have time to start brand-new projects. Ahh, we'll see how things go :)

It looks great, I'd use it over the other Joe if he'd get a hearcut.;)

EDIT: Ah what the hell, I love it.

Just wondering, but is there going to be a redux of the marine skins you made? If so, any chance you could make a third skin option where the model can have the regular green clothes and the helmet camo? skin looks great btw. downloading it now

Looking good mate.

Just wish the DODS models were more realistic or could be made to represent the M43 Uniform as you never wore the Leggings with the M43 Trousers.

And Units like the 5th Rangers only got the jackets by the time the war was comming to an end. Very few unit had the full uniform.

Was a mix of M41 Jackets, Tanker Jackets, M43 Jackets with Wool Trousers and Leggings or Double Buckle Boots etc.

Hmmm........

Honestly I didn't know that particular history of the Rangers. I thought some units had received the full new issue past '44. This is the picture I had loosely based the skins on. (http://www.wiledod.com/source/web/WW2-12DDayRngr-rtf.jpg) As you can see, you can't really see their pants too well :)

But to be honest I was more trying to convey a different uniform than be 100% accurate. Anyway, if one was so inclined they could literally take the helmet of the Ranger and cut and paste it onto the Private Joe using VTFEdit. :D
