Anyone know how to make a slippery surface, like an icy lake?

"$surfaceprop" "ice"

in the vmt file.

Does that really work? Isn't that just for debris and sounds?

yup it can affect movement, even only on one half of a blend texture! and I think there's a 'mud' type that bogs the players down and hampers movement as well. i would the latter sparingly :)

In the upcoming version of Rive, the entire riverbed is "mug". Yes it slows you down :)

so does it have to be a custom texture?

If an existing texture doesnt exist with the ice/mud flag, then yes, you will need it to be a custom texture. Be aware though that mud also comes with squishy sounds (I think, in CSS it does anyway)

Yeah surfaceprop refers to both movement speed and sounds played. To be perfectly clear, the texture doesn't have to be custom, but in most cases the vmt does.
