Iron sight sniper rifle?

How do,

Now before you all go flaming me and calling me a cheater this is purely an idea/theroy I had and I merely wanted to get some other people's view on the matter.

I was thinking about the new transparancy effects we have and i came up with an idea.

I was thinking, you could take your standard sniper rifle and reorigin it so it was as if you had the weapon shouldered and were looking through the scope but not with your eye too close so you could still see the rifle and the area around it (kinda in the centre of the screen so your looking down the barrel and through the scope a bit). You could make the back lense of the scope (The one closest to you) transparent except for a cross hair which would allow you to aim un scoped thus giving you an irong sighted sniper rifle.

I know this would be classed as a cheat and I probally wont make it, I merely wanted to bring up the idea to see what others people views are on the subject.

This thread is purly a theoretical discussion to collect other people view on the matter. If this thread is a breach of any of the rules of these boards I apoligise and will remove immeditaely

Also, if this thread turns into a flame war I will delete it so please feel free to share you ideas, but no *****ing please

That's a pretty neat idea, though I wouldn't use it because 1) I'm never sniper and 2) I don't like ironsights. :) I think someone should try it.

Nice idea...but ...i have enough problems with snipers..much more then in 3.1...:(
But yes... it would rock...if i would have this rifle...not the opponent :D

On another note if your going to make it ironsight you'll need to make the swaying go away. Or you can leave it there since it'll make it less like a cheat since people that dont use it have the disadvantage of no crosshair, and the people that do use it have a crosshair but the gun and the swaying make it hard to aim and see that portion of the screen. So it sorta evens out.:)

Cheers for the positive feed back guys, I was expecting a lynching at first lol

I play as a sniper usually as I'm a 56k so I like to get as far away from the fighting as possible cos I always lag at the worst possible minute lol As a sniper you have to learn how to shoot free hand cos alot of the time you dont have enough time to get your sights up.

Although, I do agree that if i did do this it would be pretty damn annoying as snipers would be very accurate both snap shooting and scoped.

Nah I'm afraid I dont mate.

As it seems that some people like this idea and no one really has a major problem with it I think I'll give it ago. If you wanna help out Smash that would be cool. i don't have AIM but i do use MSN.

Drop me a e-mail on skawarz@dodsupply.co.uk

Or post a message in the forms at www.dodsupply.co.uk (http://www.dodsupply.co.uk)

its a good idea, but not for 1.0 because the sniper rifles just shoot randomly unscoped so putting a crosshair would do nothing

well, usually if i no scope i am moving cause someone poped out from a door or something so i dunno, but i think they are A LOT less accurate in 1.0 i saw someone say it a couple times
