Fading crosshairs

I got a request by email and while this ended up not exactly what the person wanted it may appeal to others?
This is a normal animated cross but the alpha layers have been adjusted frame by frame so the cross disappears with a quick fade and leaves the small dot on full.
You could make a large range of these like... a cross that animates out like normal then fades.. or when you run the animation is a steady big cross... stop and it's a dot.
Here's a movie Xvid (2mb) (http://www.dodbits.com/downloads/random/dods_xHairs/chameleon%20_x.avi) of this cross... download. (http://www.dodbits.com/downloads/random/dods_xHairs/chameleon%20_x.zip)
It has possibilities me thinks :D

Can you make the picket fence like this? The would be cool.
Also is there any way to make the old old 1.3 crosshair that was two bars with a line in the middle and when you ran the line in the middle did a figure 8 sort of pattern.

I don't think so...tis a shame too. It was the best crosshair DoD ever had in my opinion. I dunno though, maybe Insane could pull it off.:D

I am not sure...depends on the amount of frames allowed in a animated VTF file...if there is enough it is possible.
That X hair used to drive me nuts, never liked it...but I will look into it :)
