Medal of Honor BSP to Source BSP?

I have a Medal of Honor Allied assault map, that would be a riot on Day of Defeat Source.

It is called V2 Rocket Facility (obj_team2)

I extracted the pk3 files from the install dir and got a BSP file and some other files.

Is it possible for this BSP to be ported over to DoDs?

Here is the file:

not a mapper so not sure. though dod_harbor was originally a COD map. I am not sure though whether harbor was a mikes marauders Heat of Battle Mod map or a stock COD map. There might be some issues with taking a stock map from another game and porting it...then again maybe there isn't.

If even if you could port it, it will be pretty bare-bones. It will need to be retextured, probably entirely re-brushed (for the better of the world) and optimised. Almost like making a map from scratch except without the planning and gameplay testing.

I found a method for converting them, and it's a pretty horrid job. You have to completely rescale but then because Source only likes dealing with "nice" numbers you'd probably be better just to map the thing from scratch.

Allright. Thanks.

Moh:aa used a completely different scale to most other Q3-based games, which mostly used 1 unit : 1 inch. Someone decompiled Stalingrad to edit a few things years ago, but the decompiler back then was practically useless since it only decompiled faces, which meant a 4-sided brush would end up as 6 separate brushes, and he ended up spending months more or less remaking the entire map.

So like summit said, you'd be better off starting from scratch since you'd need to resize it perfectly to match Source's scale, and every single thing in the map would have to redone anyway.

I thought harbor was based on a MOH map?

Ive made "The Hunt" for day of defeat 1.6 and source, and i got to tell you, it was much MUCH quicker trying to recreate it by just taking many pictures with fraps or screenshots and redoing them in my own way than even attempting to convert a single pixel.

dont waste your time trying to convert. Even if its possible the results will be less than satisfactory.

If you are 100% sure you want to play this with dod source, take the extra time to take screenshots of every square inch of the map and start mapping from the ground up.

the results will be much better and youll be a better mapper for it.
