How do you reset all of the poses of the models in HLMV. and normal maps won't work on some of the models in the viewer either.

For example, I load a combine police model, and it is tilted to the side everytime with the ground, specular, shadow, and background enabled.

How do I get it to load normally without that stuff being selected all of the time?

Well you can use the "centre view" menu option to reset the model stance. If you want to reset the background colour, etc. to default you can remove the entry for that model under HLMV's registry settings.

how would i access those registry settings

also, i figured out how to change the cubemap for models in hlmv, but it doesnt show up like the default. i even opened the default cubemap and changed the colors in it and it still comes out very wrong, with either bright washed out colors that look nothing like they should or a whole bunch of pink 3d lines coming out of it

thank you for the quick reply

I cant remember the settings off hand and I'm not on my regular computer to check. But if you search the registry with regedit for HLMV you should find an entry for each model under that.

At your own risk, you can delete the models entry under HLMV and all its sub-entries and it should revert to default.

BTW, HLMV isn't really a "true" representation of what a model looks like in a Source map. For a start theres no calcluations for local ennviroment maps, HDR, different light sources, etc. It's really just for checking models perform as they should so they only realy way to check things like enviroment maps is to check them in game.

Oh I know it isnt a true representation, but its as close as I can get to use the models in videos without having to make maps and figure out how to get them to run on the animations that way. :)

thank you for your help
