After taking everyone's advice and putting in some serious overtime, I have managed to make a major overhaul on my map. I have doubled my FPS, managing to get it running quicker then some stock maps.
After listening and watching a lot of games I have done my best to fix balance issues. I replaced the destroyed water front building with a new fortified one with balcony, giving players the ability to keep the 2nd flag clear of enemies. Cleaned away excess rubble or props that impeded the flow of the game. Also got rid of any flaws that were brought to my attention. Thanks to some help from those of you on the forum I also have it complete with mini-map and .RES file. Thank you to everyone who has helped me out with this massive project and special thanks to Rosie and Formologic23.

As much as I would like to take credit for using my awesome color-matching skills (I hope no one remembers my purple phase :o ) , I took the numbers from the skylist on the valv wiki and matched with the sky. Thank you for your comments. After this mapping project I don't think I will ever say "this custom map sucks!!", unless of course it is orange.

When I hear this comment in our server I usually say something like, "I'm sorry you feel that way, we can play your map next. What's the name of it?" It usually gets pretty quiet after that.

We like the changes you made and the fps gain. Did you change the cap zone size at the middle 2 cap flag? I noticed you can't stand behind the tank anymore to cap it on the axis side.

For some reason everytime that I release this map after play-testing and going over it with a fine-tooth comb something comes up that I feel like needs to be changed. But your right I moved the cap-zone becuse before I felt it was a little too large and was getting comments on it. Now I feel like I should fix it, but I don't know if moving a brush a few feet is worth a new release :D .

BTW I have popped into your server incognito a few times you have been playing, very fun and friendly.

Although I love this map there is 1 flaw I was able to find. In the pic you will are able to see thru the sandbag. Not every sandbag is see thru, it only seems that this is the only 1.

You should only be able to see just the upper part of the player but you can see the whole player!! Everything esle on the map is fine imop. It is fast paced which I like:)

Thank Teflon, you're right. I have walked and crawled every square inch of this map. But for some reason I can never seem to make it flawless.

great map.

I've also spotted the see-through-middle-sandbag-from-a-distance problem.

Also, on the Axis street side, the doorway to the building on the left (the one before the church and left of the Axis street flag) is buggy. From time to time you won't be able to cross the doorway unless you jump. I think this is because there is a very small step (actually it's the wooden floor width) on which people can get stuck on....

otherwise, great map.

I feel I have to make these comments since this map is still in our Clan rotation. I'm sure you're not going to make a dod_abancourt_final_final but, for future consideration, the following suggestions:

1) Don't use models fropm HL2 that weren't around during WW2. The blue truck is one..too modern. Google for some map models and you'll find a few neat ones out there. "The Surgeon" has made some great models including a Citroen car, a mortar set-up and a Nebelwerfer. I'm using a WW2 GMC troop transport in my latest map. Just make sure you give credit to the model-makers in your map description.

2) Watch your "Start" and "End" fade distances. Running along a street and seeing a model instantly appear in the distance is annoying. If in doubt, use the built-in camera function that will gauge the distance from where you're standing to the model you're looking at. Add 100 to the reading and you're set.

3)3-D skyboxes, like the ones Valve and other map-makers build add a lot of realism to the playing experience. Looking outside a map and seeing the world just end a few feet away doesn't help.

Good map otherwise :-)
