[REL] dod_blitz_rc2

There was a det map being made about 6 months or so ago called reFlash that never saw the light of day. Dustin Diamond contributed to this and I finished it up upon request. It was using the sdk_dod_flash.vmf and just changing a few things on the map to adjust the flow of the action.

Rather then let it sit we're releasing so that people can play it if they like and at least get some use out of it.

Adds 2 double caps, new doors in the allied two story house and axis sniper house as well as a second story to the connector house and a new window that overlooks the axis double cap. (the axis sniper loft is taller now, to allow the window to look @ axis double flag.)
with the positions of the 2 double cap flags, we've decided to make them start capped by each team.

This looks real good, i hope this takes off. Don't enjoy a stand-off map and these changes would fix that problem. Nice Work

Yeah, that was a nice job on the upstairs connector house diamond. :D i like how you split the rooms up. The axis sniper loft that I raised up actually has 3 more rooms open beyond the door up there, I was messing around before the compile and stuck a door entity with a clip there for this version, but if anyone thinks it might play better i'll open it back up.

Also let me know if there's any fps issues. I took out one of the portals. and added a few hints

Most of the people I've talked to have said it's very fun to play. If anyone has any suggestions feel free to post them. :)

wrong thread
cannon was talking about purple checkerboards on farmers_b4 yesterday

The allied second flag on blitz_rc2 is a "custom" hud packed in the bsp
I'll ask of anyone else has had a problem .
You might ask dart what file the second flag is.
If it is in fact missing and the map is re-released we will be glad to update the file.

03-20-2007, 01:06 PM
hehe i got that on farmers after i disconnected and changed my screen res then typed retry in conosle

03-20-2007, 01:21 PM
ok I asked the server players
Half have purple checks on the 2 and 4 flags
Both are custom hud icons
So I guess that means that half the players have the file from another custom map ?
Ill remove it from download and contact dart

update: dart will be releasing blitz_rc3 shortly

03-20-2007, 04:21 PM
Yeah, we had several with purple checks, except for those that had custom icons.

Like what's been done with the map though!

Nicely done. On both our servers! No problems with missing models.
