Okay some of you have been hounding me for almost a year to do this - here it is a good MP40 skin for the default model. Mirrors welcome.

*EDIT* Forgot to mention that there is an alternate skin with darker bakelite sidegrips - I anticipated the cries of despair :)

Bah, I asked for that on CDG awhile back and noone ever took up the offer. Soul_Slayer's model is nice, but it's not much different from the default and it's got a higher polycount...same with his BAR model.

The only model he did (in my opinion) where you can see the benefits of the extra polies is the 30cal he edited.

I don't have that file anymore, even though it got a lot further than in that picture. But I never got a host so it never got released. It was based on Sproily's skin, not Kimono's. If you want, I could restart that skin whilst my K98 Forral/Coyote hack is being dealt with (waiting on a host again, you know who you are). Could do two variants, one based on Kimono's, the other on Sproily's. My ability to manipulate textures has far improved from those old screenshots anyway.

It's not like I hate it or anything, it's better than about 95% of the games out there (even better than RO's MP40 model). But I can only skin in my spare time, which isn't a lot (it's taken over a year just to reskin most the weapons) so I have to pick and choose which things I work on. Check your PM box.

Guyver basically already answered this, but yes it's in the upcoming pack, no it won't affect your performance at all. Well.... it shouldn't. It's just the default model with a couple of shaders attached, the same shaders used on the default player models. Skin is default size too.

Thanks all for the comments :). I made a darker bakelite version BUT I'm not sure if I made it dark enough. Lemme know if you're using it and think it should be darker or have less color.

The darker bakelite version is great - thank you for this option :) I would prefer a even darker, more blackish bakelite.

Maybe like this:Yes I will probably make it darker. All monitors are not made equal and what looks really dark on one doesn't on another; on my screen that dark one almost looked black. I wasn't sure exactly how dark it was for everybody.

I dunno, I just tried the dark version and looks pretty good...but I'd like to see what it would look like like if you did make it even darker. Variety is never a bad thing. :)
