Personally I like the fast gameplay that the arena maps offer. There is something lacking though. I wanted to do a fast paced map with a "believable" theme. I did some digging and saw no one had made a junkyard map.. here's my attempt. Instead of detailed terrain I mainly used models. The framerates aren't amazing but in the OK to GOOD range for me.
Note that this is only the third source map I've made (the other 2 were learning experiences) and I haven't mapped since Duke3d so be gentle. :)
Also, I realize I used a bunch of models from folks who frequent here. I'll give credit to their awesome work in the mapinfo.
Couple Screens attached...

just add some cars stacked up and rubbish mounds
personally i dont like these sort of maps, takes all the point of playing dod away! but if u make it look more like a junkyard instead of a few things layed random i might play it :D

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback! (and thanks Dark for the mirror :) )
I know it looks a little scarce in the screenshots but there is a ton of cover on this map. Pretty much everywhere you go you're on, behind or next to some crate or wreckage. I did start out making a pile of tires but in the end it was just too much. I did remove some models in different areas because of framerate drops so I'm a bit leery to drop much more in there.
We did run it a bit and to me it was pretty fun. Based on that testing and suggestions I fixed some things. Interested in hearing back from anyone who tries it out and open to suggestions.. Like I said i'm still a bit green..
