Custom maps - giving credit and promoting

I have to admit, I made a purple fight map. I learned a ton of stuff and now Im moving to map a real map. I was pretty surprised to see almost everyone shoot me down like I was some n00b. Anyway, orange maps are for FUN - the guys doing the real maps need more credit!

Heres a question to all you experienced mappers - How do you want us to support you more? Put your map in our permanent rotation and have a csay or something that has your name in it? Would you want us to have a section in our forums to list peoples names/contact of maps running on our servers? Send our ATM cards w/PIN attatched!!! lol

Serioulsy though, we run a few nice customs and we should be giving credit somehow. Whats the best way to go about doing this?

Keep running the maps, that's the best support we can all get. Don't forget everyone can send in their constructive criticism too !

Our server lives from custom maps, and we enjoy promoting them. Thanks.

I have to admit, I made a purple fight map. I learned a ton of stuff and now Im moving to map a real map. This unfortunate behavior I'll neither do nor condone. You are now 1 step above 99.9% of the crowd - you've actually made a map. This should always be supported and never discouraged. I'm glad that chilly reception didn't turn you off to mapping. Although I don't prefer arena maps, I will say thanks for your contribution!

Like Neutrino said, running the maps is enough !

Any good mapper will include all the proper credits and have them embedded into bsp file.

Just, for the love of all things glorious, don't write any advertising in the actual map.

Without custom maps, DoD:S was doomed - srsly.

What game is released with only 4 maps?

LOL

Can't wait to see what's next in store from you |3eeron.
