Hi i was wondering if there was a crosshair pack out with the following crosshair in it. If not can somebody help me make one?

Basically i want the crosshair you see in this picture without the center dot, animated and in yellow. So just the 3 lines.

I did not make it default yellow because it is a matter of setting that up in the OPTIONS screen like above.

Thats awesome mate. Thanks for this!

I'm reading your tutorial on dodbits now to learn how i can edit the crosshair a bit myself. I want to make the vertical line a bit shorter to see how it looks. Do i need to install all those programs if i only want to edit your crosshair or will VTFEdit be enough?

You mean the tut on using The GIMP?

Just remember that tut is for a simple crosshair, your one is animated.

An animated VTF (like this crosshair) requires a different approach from just "editing one vtf."

I don't have a tutorial on animated vtfs but basically...

VTFEdit will export the separate frames... there is 11 TGA's to edit in your XHair, and then you can use a graphics editor...like the GIMP, to edit each frame (the TGA's) when you are happy you use VTFEdit to reassemble all 11 images into a single animated VTF.

I am trying to move my site at the moment to another host but I will put up a tut on animated VTF's soon.

Thanks for the explanation. I'll hang back for now and i'm happy using the crosshair you provided. I'm checking out your CALHud's now because i find everything on the default hud so big. Flag icons, text, winning/losing message etc.

Good luck with moving to another host if you're still in the process.

Sorry for the late replies but email reply notification in these forums stopped working for me back in 2002 iirc. Never got it working since. Apart from a sporadic notification now and then.

How about a dot, possibly transparent?, that gets larger while you walk and then shrinks to normal when you dont?

Make a tutorial!!! :P

Doing a reinstall on a new machine, couldn't find that crosshair anymore. I copied some files from my older steam install but it gives me a purple square instead of crosshair on public servers. I'm glad that i came to look here, i redownloaded.

Thanks for leaving that file up so long!

cheers

*edit* Well sadly this didn't fix my problem. I see the crosshair in my menu fine, but once i enter a multiplayergame it becomes a purple/black square. Even then, checking back in the menu i still see the crosshair.

I'll post in Support about this. Cya
